OGS To Award Over $794,240 In New Construction Contracts

Work to Commence in Three New York Counties

ALBANY, NY (08/14/2008; 1331)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of General Services Commissioner John C. Egan today announced the awarding of bids for three contracts representing more than $794,240 in new construction, providing work in three counties of New York.

The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following the normal process of review and approval by the State Comptroller's Office. All of the low bidders are New York State firms.

The projects and apparent low bidders are described in the following listing by county:

CAYUGA COUNTY

A construction contract to repair roof 'a' and replace roofs 'b' and 'c' Building No. 1, operations headquarters at the DOT Region 3, Cayuga County in Auburn, NY was bid by four firms. Of those four, Welch Construction, Inc. of Marcellus, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $192,840.

MONROE COUNTY

A construction contract to remove roll down shutters, Building No. 60 at the Rochester Psychiatric Center in Rochester, NY was bid by three firms. Of those three, Kuitems Construction, Inc. of Rochester, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $57,900.

SCHOHARIE COUNTY

A construction contract to provide modified built-up roof system Building No. 14 at the State University Agricultural/Tech College in Cobleskill, NY was bid by eight firms. Of those eight, Weather Guard Roofing Co., LLC of Schenectady, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $543,500.
