Work to Commence in Five New York Counties
ALBANY, NY (10/24/2007; 1153)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of General Services Commissioner John C. Egan today announced the awarding of bids for ten contracts representing more than $8.2 MILLION in new construction, providing work in five counties of New York.
The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following the normal process of review and approval by the State Comptroller's Office. All of the low bidders are New York State firms.
The projects and apparent low bidders are described in the following listing by county:
CLINTON COUNTY
Construction, electrical and plumbing contracts were bid to provide drainage, Building No. 4 at the Altona Correctional Facility in Altona, NY.
Construction: Steven E. Fuller Excavating, Inc. of Keeseville, NY was the apparent low bidder out of three firms. The low bid was $117,700.
Electrical: O'Connell Electric Company of Victor, NY was the apparent low bidder out of three firms. The low bid was $4,520.
Plumbing: John V. Warren, Inc. of Rensselaer, NY was the apparent low bidder out of four firms. The low bid was $8,700.
DELAWARE COUNTY
A construction contract to driveway culvert replacement at the Brace Residential Center in Masonville, NY was bid by two firms. Of those two, Vacri Construction Corp. of Binghamton, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $411,000.
NEW YORK COUNTY
Electrical and heating and ventilation contracts were bid to upgrade hvac system, Building No. 4 at the New York Psychiatric Institute in New York, NY. Electrical: M & J Electrical Contractor's Corp. of Long Island City, NY was the apparent low bidder out of one firm. The low bid was $846,008.
Heating and Ventilation: Maric Mechanical Inc. of East Elmhurst, NY was the apparent low bidder out of three firms. The low bid was $6,328,000.
SCHOHARIE COUNTY
Construction and electrical contracts were bid to provide insulation and siding Building Nos. 2, 3 and 35 at the Summit Correctional Facility in Summit, NY.
Construction: Bunkoff General Contractors, Inc. of Latham, NY was the apparent low bidder out of six firms. The low bid was $259,000.
Electrical: Wesley J. Staroba, Inc. Dba of Schenectady, NY was the apparent low bidder out of five firms. The low bid was $23,395.
ULSTER COUNTY
Electrical and heating and ventilation contracts were bid to rehabilitate ventilation system, Building No. 4 at the Ulster Correctional Facility in Napanoch, NY.
Electrical: P & D Electric of Hudson Valley, Inc. of Beacon, NY was the apparent low bidder out of five firms. The low bid was $30,837.
Heating and Ventilation: UAP Inc. of Poughquag, NY was the apparent low bidder out of four firms. The low bid was $209,600.
