Teen Skaters to Offer Demonstration Before Audiostars Perform

The New York State Office of General Services and the Olympic Regional Development Authority will join together to offer music and skating at the final Rock N’ Skate of the 2007-08 season at the Empire State Plaza.

The music will be provided by one of the Capitol District’s most popular bands, the Audiostars. This ensemble features former members of the Burners UK and singer extraordinaire. J. Yager. As a special treat, the Olympic Regional Development Authority is sponsoring a brief performance on the ice by two of the nation’s top junior skaters before the big rock show. Offering a performance will be Kendall Wyckoff, 15, of Lake Placid, a 2007 and 2008 US National Ladies Competitor and Developmental International Competitor. Joining her will be 13-year-old Ethan Amaral, a 2007 and 2008 Junior National Intermediate Competitor. Both skaters won gold medals in their respective events at the Empire State Games, held this past weekend at the Olympic Center in Lake Placid.

In addition, free skating is available daily through early March. Hours of operation are: Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., weather permitting.
