OGS to Award Over $2.6 Million in New Construction Contracts

Work to Commence in Orleans County, New York

ALBANY, NY (02/21/2008; 1302)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of General Services Commissioner John C. Egan today announced the awarding of bids for four contracts representing more than $2.6 MILLION in new construction, providing work in Orleans County, New York.

The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following the normal process of review and approval by the State Comptroller's Office. All of the low bidders are New York State firms.

The project and apparent low bidders are described in the following listing by county:

ORLEANS COUNTY

Construction, electrical, heating and ventilation and plumbing contracts were bid to provide conversion of c block south to icp Building No. 23 at the Albion Correctional Facility in Albion, NY.

Construction: Testa Construction Inc. of Rochester, NY was the apparent low bidder out of eight firms. The low bid was $1,186,000.

Electrical: Suburban Electric of Albion, Inc. of Albion, NY was the apparent low bidder out of four firms. The low bid was $83,900.

Heating and Ventilation: Hoot Mechanical & Electrical, Inc. of Lockport, NY was the apparent low bidder out of three firms. The low bid was $914,800.

Plumbing: M.K.S. Plumbing Corp. of West Seneca, NY was the apparent low bidder out of five firms. The low bid was $437,000.
