Work to Commence in Two New York Counties
ALBANY, NY (09/18/2008; 1436)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of General Services Commissioner John C. Egan today announced the awarding of bids for four contracts representing more than $3.5 MILLION in new construction, providing work in two counties of New York.
The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following the normal process of review and approval by the State Comptroller's Office. All of the low bidders are New York State firms.
The projects and apparent low bidders are described in the following listing by county:
ALBANY COUNTY
An electrical contract to replace switchgear, Building No. 17 at the State Office Building Campus in Albany, NY was bid by seven firms. Of those seven, Stilsing Electric, Inc. of Rensselaer, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $2,705,000.
A construction contract to repair main entrance floor slab at the Education Building Addition in Albany, NY was bid by six firms. Of those six, Mid-State Industries, Ltd. of Schenectady, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $108,900.
A construction contract to provide refinishing of exterior panels at the DMNA Headquarters in Latham, NY was bid by eight firms. Of those eight, Ganem Contracting Corp. of Clifton Park, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $373,900.
ESSEX COUNTY
A construction contract to provide roof, operations subheadquarters at the DOT Region 1, Essex County in Ray Brook, NY was bid by three firms. Of those three, Arrow Sheet Metal Works Inc. of Buffalo, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $350,545.
