OGS to Award Over $5.1 Million in New Construction Contracts

Work to Commence in Three New York Counties

ALBANY, NY (02/14/2008; 1104)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of General Services Commissioner John C. Egan today announced the awarding of bids for five contracts representing more than $5.1 MILLION in new construction, providing work in three counties of New York.

The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following the normal process of review and approval by the State Comptroller's Office. All of the low bidders are New York State firms.

The projects and apparent low bidders are described in the following listing by county:

ALBANY COUNTY

A construction contract to replace glass in various buildings at the Office of General Services at the Empire State Plaza and Statewide New York was bid by two firms. Of those two, American Glass Co. of Albany, Inc. of Albany, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $1,867,925.

CLINTON COUNTY

Construction, electrical and heating and ventilation contracts were bid to provide hvac, myers fine arts building at the State University College in Plattsburgh, NY.

Construction: Branon Construction Co., Inc. of Plattsburgh, NY was the apparent low bidder out of four firms. The low bid was $106,800.

Electrical: S & L Electric, Inc. of Colton, NY was the apparent low bidder out of six firms. The low bid was $30,450.

Heating and Ventilation: Brockway Mechanical Systems, Inc. of Plattsburgh, NY was the apparent low bidder out of four firms. The low bid was $173,173.

QUEENS COUNTY

An electrical contract to electrical service upgrade at the Creedmoor Psychiatric Center in Queens Village, NY was bid by seven firms. Of those seven, Global Electrical Contracting of Westchester, Inc. of Yonkers, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $3,011,790.
