OMCE Officers Re-elected

ALBANY, NY (10/05/2007; 1214)(readMedia)-- Barbara Zaron was elected to serve another one-year term as President of the Organization of NYS Management/Confidential Employees, Inc. (OMCE). Ms. Zaron is beginning her 25th year as OMCE President; she was first elected President in September 1983 and has been re-elected each year since then.

Also elected to serve as officers with Ms. Zaron are Richard Polsinello, First Vice President; Mark MacConnell, Second Vice President; Rosa Maria Castillo-Kesper, Secretary; and Richard Gunn, Treasurer. Re-elected to the Board for three year terms in addition to Ms. Zaron are Kevin O’Buckley, Alfred Station, NY; Lewis Pulver, Plainview, NY; and John Sebesta, Binghamton, NY. Elected for a first three year term is Kevin McKenna, Wynantskill, NY.

OMCE is the labor organization created by, and for, Management/Confidential (M/C) employees who are not permitted by the Taylor Law to be represented by an employee organization in collective negotiations. OMCE’s primary purpose is to represent the collective point of view of management/confidential employees and to offer specific support and assistance to meet the employment –related needs of individual M/C employees.

OMCE’s short term priorities are passage and enactment of the M/C Pay Bill to provide fair and equitable compensation and benefits for the state’s M/C employees and maintenance of affordable health insurance benefits for working and retired M/C employees.

Management/Confidential employees are the managers responsible for operating and administering the state’s programs and services and are in a unique position to ensure the effective and efficient operation of state government. They must be justly compensated and recognized for their experience, expertise, and professionalism in serving the residents of the state, according to Ms. Zaron.
