Constuct an Underground electric Transmission Link
ALBANY, NY (04/21/2008; 1555)(readMedia)-- The New York State Public Service Commission (Commission) will hold a public statement hearing concerning the proposal of Hudson Transmission Partners, LLC to construct a 345 kV submarine/underground electric transmission link between Manhattan and New Jersey.
The transmission line will be approximately eight miles in length and about four miles of it will be installed beneath the Hudson River. The line will enter Manhattan at a point adjacent to Piers 92 and 94 opposite West 52nd Street. It would be buried beneath 52nd Street continue east on West 52nd Street, south on 11th Avenue, west on W. 51st Street, and then south on 12th Avenue to the entrance of Consolidated Edison West 49th Street Substation.

The public will have an opportunity to present their comments at the hearing before an Administrative Law Judge assigned by the Commission to this case. A verbatim transcript of the hearing will be made for inclusion in the record of this proceeding.
It is not necessary to make an appointment in advance or to present written material in order to speak at the public statement hearing. Speakers will be called after completing a card requesting time to speak. The hearing will remain open and will continue until everyone wishing to speak has been heard or other reasonable arrangements are made.
