Pavement Resurfacing Project at Iroquois Travel Plaza to Affect Three Tandem Tractor Trailer Spaces

ALBANY, NY (09/14/2007; 1350)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that a pavement resurfacing project at the westbound Iroquois Travel Plaza will result in limited parking for tandem tractor trailers on Monday, September 17 and Tuesday, September 18.

The project will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, September 17, and Tuesday, September 18 and will affect three tandem tractor trailer spaces while Authority forces mill and pave the west end of the truck ramp. The affected spaces will remain closed for the duration of the two-day project. However, the remaining four tandem tractor trailer spaces located in another section of the travel plaza parking area will continue to be available for tandem tractor trailer operators.

Additionally, westbound tandem tractor trailer operators can utilize tandem tractor trailer parking lots at Interchange 30 (Herkimer), located approximately nine miles east of the Iroquois Travel Plaza, or at Schuyler Travel Plaza, located approximately 17 miles west of the Iroquois Travel Plaza.

The Authority has activated a Dynamic Message Sign (DMS) to alert commercial drivers of this project. *

The Authority offers a free email service called TRANSalert to its customers via e-mail or text messaging to inform them of major unscheduled incidents that may affect their travel on the Thruway.
