Restaurant and Restroom Services at Chittenango Travel Plaza Will Temporarily Be Suspended

Fuel Services Will Remain Available to Motorists

ALBANY, NY (02/04/2008; 1415)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that restaurant and restroom services will temporarily be suspended at the Chittenango Travel Plaza, located westbound between Interchanges 34 (Canastota) and 34A (Syracuse I-481), at milepost 266.0, on Tuesday, February 5 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. due to a water line replacement project being conducted by the Onondaga County Water Authority (OCWA).

Restaurants and restrooms will be closed to motorists while this necessary project takes place. However, fuel services will remain available.

Westbound motorists in need of restaurant and restroom services are advised to stop at the Schuyler Travel Plaza, located prior to the Chittenango Travel Plaza, between Interchanges 30 (Herkimer) and 31 (Utica), at milepost 227.0.

The Authority will reopen the restaurants and restrooms at the Chittenango Travel Plaza as soon as conditions permit.

The Authority will activate Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) before the Schuyler and Chittenango Travel Plazas to alert motorists of the limited services at the Chittenango Travel Plaza.

The Authority appreciates motorists’ patience during this time.
