Revised: Ridge Hill Development Project to Necessitate Traffic Stoppages

Motorists May Experience Delays

ALBANY, NY (10/10/2007; 0929)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that on Thursday, October 11 brief traffic stoppages along I-87 will be necessary to allow blasting as part of the Ridge Hill development project.

The traffic stoppages will take place near Interchange 6A (Ridge Hill, Corporate Drive) in both the northbound and southbound directions. The stoppages are scheduled to take place between 10 a.m. and noon and are expected to last no more than 20 minutes.

Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) 530 AM has been activated to inform motorists of the scheduled stops. The contractor will also activate Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) to advise motorists of the stoppages.

The Authority offers a free email service called TRANSalert to its customers via email or text messaging to inform them of major unscheduled incidents that may affect their travel on the Thruway.
