Ridge Hill Development Project to Necessitate Overnight Lane Closures and Traffic Stoppages on I-87

ALBANY, NY (07/11/2008; 1106)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that as part of the Ridge Hill development project, demolition work on the Ridge Hill Bridge will necessitate both northbound and southbound lane closures and periodic traffic stoppages on I-87 beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2008.

Two lanes in both northbound and southbound directions will be closed from Interchange 6 (Yonkers, Bronxville, Tuckahoe Road) to the Yonkers Toll Barrier beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday, July 11 until 6 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2008. In addition to the lane closures, periodic traffic stoppages also will be required during the demolition work for the removal of the existing steel girders.

The Authority will activate its Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) 530 AM to inform motorists of the scheduled closures and stoppages.

The Authority appreciates motorists' patience during this necessary construction work.
