"Run for Your Life" 5K Recovery Race for New Yorkers
September 28, 9 am to noon, event at Icahn Stadium, NYC
NEW YORK, NY (09/24/2008; 1000)(readMedia)-- More than 1,500 people are scheduled to attend the 3rd Annual "Run for Your Life," a NYC National Recovery Month event in support of men and women in recovery from substance abuse problems.
Participants include individuals in treatment, their families and friends, and supporters of recovery services. As the premier NYC recovery month event, co-sponsored this year by Chem Rx, "Run for Your Life" attracts entrants from all the major NYC treatment programs including: Odyssey House, Daytop, Samaritan Village, Educational Alliance, Palladia and many more. Commissioner Karen Carpenter-Palumbo, New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) will emcee the event.

Lively, family-focused event with free raffles, music and prizes.
All proceeds from the race benefit men, women and families in recovery at Odyssey House residential and outpatient treatment services. Odyssey House provides treatment, education, housing, and medical services for families and individuals with substance and abuse and/or mental health problems.
