SUNY Cortland Student Government Officers Elected

CORTLAND, NY (05/01/2008; 1446)(readMedia)-- Casey Hahl, a junior majoring in adolescence education: social studies, has been elected the Student Government Association (SGA) president at SUNY Cortland for the 2008-09 academic year. She is from Lynbrook, N.Y.

Also chosen during the online voting during late April were:

• Margaret Rainsford, a junior geographic information systems major from Brooklyn, N.Y., as vice president; and,

• Melissa Dwyer, a freshman childhood education major from Bellmore, N.Y., as treasurer.

In addition, six different student referenda were passed. They include changes to the SGA constitution as well as funding allocations totaling $327,000 to support activities of several student clubs, future campus-wide special events, student club transportation needs, and to create an endowment fund for campus leadership activities and programs.
