SUNY Plattsburgh Marketing Club Presents Four-Part Business Etiquette Series

Series, Open to the Community, Began in 1988

PLATTSBURGH, NY (02/07/2008; 2000)(readMedia)-- The SUNY Plattsburgh Collegiate Chapter of the American Marketing Association presents its annual "Business Etiquette Seminar Series."

  • The first seminar, "Office Manners," will be presented by Dr. James Csipak, of the department of marketing and entrepreneurship, on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 4:30 p.m. in the Alumni Room, on the second floor of the Angell College Center. The event is free and is open to the public.
  • The second seminar, "Cocktail Party Etiquette, Conversation, and Dressing for Business," will be presented by Dr. Nancy J. Church, of the department of marketing and entrepreneurship, on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 4:30 p.m. in the Angell College Center, on the second floor in the Alumni Room. The event is free and is open to the public.
  • The third seminar, on "Interview and Meeting Etiquette," will be presented by John Parmelee, of the Department of Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management, on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 4:30 p.m. in the Alumni Room of the Angell College Center, second floor. The event is free and is open to the public.
  • The final seminar is on "Dining Etiquette" and will be presented on Thursday, April 10, at 4:30 p.m., in Sibley Hall 403A by Bob Rolfs, of the department of hotel, restaurant and tourism management. Rolfs will talk about the proper way to use eating utensils, handle difficult-to-eat foods, place the napkin, etc. A dinner in Samuel D's restaurant will follow at 5:30 p.m. Reservations and payment are required in advance as space is limited, and the seminar is open to the general public at a cost of $15 per person. Reservations must be made by calling Dr. Nancy Church at 518-564-4169 by April 3.

The SUNY Plattsburgh Collegiate Chapter of the American Marketing Association was established in 1979 and the Etiquette Series has been one of the club's activities since 1988. The series is supported by a grant from College Auxiliary Services (CAS) at SUNY Plattsburgh. Refreshments will be served at the February seminars.
