Thursday, Aug. 7
SUNY Plattsburgh College Council meeting, 11:45 a.m., Videoconferencing Room 416, Sibley Hall. Open to the public. Parking is available in the lot at the rear of the building, which is accessible via George Angell Drive off from Rugar Street. The public can also watch the live Webcast of the meeting. Residence halls open for new and returning students, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Students should report to the appropriate hall office to register, get combinations, etc. Students who do not know their assignments or who plan to check in after Sunday should report to the Housing and Residence Life Office in Room 103 of Algonquin Hall. The office is open Saturday, Aug. 23 and Sunday, Aug. 24 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The phone number is (518) 564-3824. Those who do not show will forfeit their room reservation on Tuesday, Aug. 26 at 8 a.m.

Student Involvement Fair and Up ‘Til Dawn on the Lawn. 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., outside of Clinton Dining Hall on the SUNY Plattsburgh Campus or, in the event of rain, Warren Ballrooms, Angell College Center. Students will learn more about how to get involved on campus - from fraternity/sorority life to Student Association clubs and organizations to service-based activities. They will also receive information about how to support the campus-wide Up ‘til Dawn fundraiser for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Gerety is a speaker and leadership trainer who combines his personal experiences, real life examples and humor to teach the principles and skills that are essential to being a leader. Free.
