SUNY Plattsburgh Symphonic Band to Perform
Works to Include Special Performance Effects by Piano Soloist
PLATTSBURGH, NY (10/24/2007; 1409)(readMedia)-- Under the direction of Daniel Gordon, associate professor of music, the SUNY Plattsburgh Symphonic Band will present a concert on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium in Hawkins Hall on the SUNY Plattsburgh campus.
The program will consist of works by Joseph Willcox Jenkins, Jan van der Roost, Percy Grainger, John Barnes Chance, and Robert W. Smith. Plattsburgh State music faculty member Dr. Karen Becker will be the featured soloist on Henry Cowell's “Little Concerto for Piano and Band,” a work that calls for special performance effects from the soloist.
