SUNY Plattsburgh Unveils Senior Art Exhibition

Over 200 pieces on display, opening reception April 19

PLATTSBURGH, NY (04/17/2008; 1033)(readMedia)-- Come see this generation's up and coming artists at the SUNY Plattsburgh 2008 Senior Art Exhibition. The exhibition begins on April 19 in the Myers Fine Arts building on the campus of SUNY Plattsburgh.

On April 19, student lectures will be presented in the Hartman Theatre at 3 p.m. followed by an opening reception at 4 p.m. in the first-floor lobby and second-floor lounge. The exhibition will be on display through May 17 in the Burke and Myers Lobby galleries of the Plattsburgh State Art Museum.

The exhibition includes over 200 works presented in a wide variety of mediums including sculpture, ceramics, painting, drawing, graphic design, photography, and printmaking. This exhibition represents the artistic accomplishments of 19 Studio Art and Art History majors during their years of study with the SUNY Plattsburgh art department.

A color illustrated catalogue produced by the senior exhibition class, which includes artists' statements, accompanies the show and is available for free to all visitors. The catalogue provides a sampling of the variety and quality of the art produced by Plattsburgh State students.
