PA Turnpike Celebrates Travel-Plaza Openings

HARRISBURG, PA (05/28/2008; 1046)(readMedia)-- The Pa. Satellite News Service will provide a satellite feed of a 2 p.m. news conference:

Officials from the Pennsylvania Turnpike and its partners will mark the opening of three new service plazas today at a 2 p.m. ribbon-cutting event at the Allentown Service Plaza on the Northeastern Extension (Interstate 476) in Upper Macungie Township, Lehigh County.

New facilities at Allentown, Sideling Hill and North Somerset opened earlier this month ahead of the Memorial Day weekend and the start of the summer travel season. The three plazas had closed right after Labor Day last year to allow the work to take place.

The feed includes interviews with CEO Joe Brimmeier, officials cutting the ribbon, and b-roll of inside and outside of all new plazas including the Sideling Hill Plaza in Taylor Township, Fulton County and the North Somerset Plaza Somerset Township, Somerset County.
