E-ZPass Lanes To Open Monday At Two Mon/Fayette Mainline Toll Plazas
PITTSBURGH, PA (04/18/2008; 1133)(readMedia)-- BACKGROUND: The convenience of electronic toll collection will be available to motorists at the two northernmost mainline toll plazas on the Mon/Fayette Expressway (Turnpike 43) as of 6 am Monday, April 21. E-ZPass lanes will be operational at the California toll facility in Washington County and at the Jefferson Hills toll facility in southeastern Allegheny County. Remaining fare collection points on the Mon/Fayette system will get E-ZPass later this year. E-ZPass allows drivers to proceed through fare collection lanes without stopping while tolls are automatically debited from a pre-paid account. Sign-up teams will be stationed at both plazas from 8 am to 4 pm Monday, April 21 through Friday, April 25 to enroll interested drivers who have not yet opened E-ZPass accounts.
The feed includes sound bites and video as follows: • Joseph Brimmeier, CEO of Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission • B-roll of E-ZPass lanes • B-roll of the mainline toll plazas in California and Jefferson Hills
