Illegal Passing Endangers our Children

ALBANY, NY (04/30/2008; 1100)(readMedia)-- The New York Association for Pupil Transportation will hold a press conference at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 5, 2008, at the Dr. Martin Luther King Magnet School, located at 416 East Raynor Avenue in Syracuse.

The several purposes of the press conference will be to share:

➢ the results of the first three weeks of operation of the Syracuse school bus equipped with an ELSAG mobile license plate reader;

➢ the findings of a survey completed among Syracuse residents and parents of Syracuse school children about the issue of illegal passing of school buses;

➢ data from a statewide effort to track the incidence of illegal passes of school buses.
