Schuyler Travel Plaza Restrooms and Restaurant Services Temporarily Suspended

Fuel Stations Remain Open

ALBANY, NY (09/06/2007; 1327)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority announces that restroom and restaurant services at the Schuyler Travel Plaza located westbound between Interchange 30 (Herkimer) and 31 (Utica), at milepost 227 have been temporarily suspended for mandated testing and repairs of the water system. Fuel services will remain open for motorist.

Motorists in need of restroom or restaurant services are advised that the closest westbound travel plaza prior to the Schuyler Travel Plaza is located approximately 17 miles east of Schuyler. The nearest travel plaza westbound beyond the Schuyler Travel Plaza is the Chittenango Travel Plaza, located approximately 30 miles west of Schuyler.

The repair work is scheduled be begin at 2 p.m. and is expected to last for approximately two hours.

Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) have been activated prior to the Schuyler Travel Plaza to inform motorists of the limited services currently available.

The Authority appreciates motorists’ patience and understanding during this time.
