MASTIC, NY (03/28/2008; 1111)(readMedia)-- As an officer, prosecutor and magistrate in the United States Army, I was trained to recognize that for leaders, perception is often reality. Similarly, the privilege of holding elected office comes with a mandate to maintain the public trust. To properly serve the community, any information that causes constituents to question the actions and motivations of a public servant must be properly vetted.
