In The Winner’s Circle At Saratoga Race Course
SCHENECTADY, NY (08/18/2008; 1422)(readMedia)-- Saratoga Race Course has always been the "August place to be" for Theresa Dibble of Stillwater, Saratoga County. The fifty-four-year-old former financial counselor had no idea her love for the track and her fondness for New York Lottery games would land her in the Winner's Circle to collect a million dollar Lottery Jackpot prize today. Dibble is the Capital Region's newest Lottery millionaire, winning her prize on the popular Cashtastic instant scratch off game.
The New York Lottery's Yolanda Vega and Gretchen Dizer presented Dibble with her check following the day's third race, The New York Lottery Cashtastic, named in honor of the instant ticket that made Dibble an instant millionaire. "I knew I would win a prize one of these days, but to hit the jackpot is truly numbing" she said.
Dibble and her husband, Jim, are long time patrons of Saratoga Race Course. "We can't wait for August to come around each year. Just the history of the Race Course and the excitement of each race is really electrifying!" she said.
Dibble is the second Lottery millionaire from Saratoga County so far this year. Marvin and Joyce Mondoux, also from Stillwater, split the $1,000,000 prize on the Merry Money instant scratch off game in January.
Dibble has no specific plans for her newfound wealth. "It's just nice knowing that now I can pay off a few debts and take my time deciding what fun things I can buy with the money" she said.
Dibble purchased her lucky ticket on July 21, 2008 at the Stewart's Shop in Waterford. She claimed her $1,000,000 winner at the Lottery's Schenectady Customer Service Center on the same day. Her jackpot prize will be paid as $50,000 a year for 20 years, less required tax withholdings. Her annual net check will total $34,075.
The New York Lottery, a presenting sponsor of the Travers Festival, also sells Lottery tickets at the Satins and Silks gift shop located on the ground floor of the Grandstand at Saratoga Race Course.
The New York Lottery contributed nearly $2.6 billion to help support education in New York State on revenues of $7.549 billion in fiscal year 2007-08 - - a profit margin of 34.3%. The New York Lottery continues to be North America's largest and most profitable Lottery, earning over $34.2 billion in education support statewide since its founding over 40 years ago.
