ALBANY, NY (07/11/2008; 1612)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that work being done in association with the Woodbury Toll Barrier Highway Speed E-ZPass project will necessitate a temporary traffic pattern change at Interchange 16 (Harriman, Route 17, US 6), northbound, on I-87.
On Monday, July 14 at 7 p.m, in preparation for the pattern change, placement of concrete barrier and striping of the roadway will begin. Weather permitting, preparation work is expected to be completed by 7 p.m, Tuesday, July 15. Traffic will then be directed from the existing northbound Interchange 16 ramp on to a temporary ramp to the left of the existing ramp. This traffic pattern is expected to be in place until the end of August.
This temporary pattern is necessary in order to allow the installation of drainage structures essential to the project.
The Authority has activated Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) 530AM and Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) to advise motorists of the work being conducted as part of this project.
The Authority appreciates motorists' patience and understanding while this necessary work takes place.
