The Empire State Animal Protection Forum Organizers Announce 5th Annual Conference

Training and networking event to be held this year in Poughkeepsie, NY

KINGSTON, NY (10/23/2007; 1006)(readMedia)-- The fifth annual Empire State Animal Protection Forum (ESAPF) will be held on Friday afternoon and evening, November 2, and all day Saturday, November 3, 2007, at the Best Western Inn & Conference Center in Poughkeepsie, New York. The speaker sessions will begin at 3:30 pm on Friday and conclude at 5:30 pm Saturday. Pre-registration is recommended. The fee is $105 per person. A complete agenda and registration form are available to download at: www.nyshumane.org

On Friday afternoon, a panel of outstanding speakers, including Animal Planet’s Annemarie Lucas, of the ASPCA, will address the topic of “Animal Cruelty – FAQs and Facts.” An evening reception will follow. Saturday will feature a series of workshops and presentations by animal protection experts on a broad range of topics, as well as a number of exhibits by sponsoring organizations. At an awards luncheon on Saturday, Senator Frank Padavan, Assemblywoman Deborah J. Glick and Assemblywoman Linda B. Rosenthal, NYS legislators who have sponsored significant successful bills on behalf of animals, will be honored, as will other individuals who have advanced animal protection in New York State.

ESAPF’s organizing committee is comprised of representatives of the ASPCA, Chenango County SPCA, Humane Society at Lollypop Farm, Humane Society of the U.S., New York State Animal Control Association, and New York State Humane Association. “In addition to the benefits offered by the workshops and exhibits themselves, ESAPF serves as an excellent networking opportunity for those involved with or interested in the animal protection field,” said Laura-Ann Cammisa, president of the New York State Humane Association. The event will be of interest to dog and animal control officers, shelter personnel, animal rescue groups, humane law enforcement personnel, legislators, veterinarians and staff, as well as members of the public with a particular interest in animal welfare.
