Thirteen SUNY Cortland Students Participate in Education Conference

CORTLAND, NY (06/18/2008; 1043)(readMedia)-- Thirteen SUNY Cortland students exhibited posters, materials and current curriculum projects at the New York State Association for the Education of Young Children Conference (NYSAEYC) in Buffalo, N.Y., from May 1-3.

The students, all seniors majoring in early childhood education, were accompanied to the conference by Heather Bridge, assistant professor of childhood and early childhood education, and Emilie Kudela, associate professor of childhood and early childhood education.

"We strongly encourage our students to participate in NYSAEYC, believing it exposes them to professional involvement in the early childhood education field," said Kudela. "Students benefit from hearing informed presentations by renowned speakers and they have the opportunity to actively participate by presenting their own work."

Students who were involved in the Cortland Early Childhood Development Service showed electronic and online presentations of the professional development work undertaken in Cortland preschool settings during the Spring 2008 semester.
