Thruway Authority Announces Lane Closure Southbound on Tappan Zee Bridge
Motorists Should Expect Delays
ALBANY, NY (07/30/2008; 0802)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority has announced that the two right southbound lanes on the Tappan Zee Bridge have been temporarily closed due to a punch through.
Motorists traveling in the area should expect delays and seek an alternate route if possible.
Maintenance crews are on the scene and the lanes will be reopened as soon as conditions permit.
Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) and Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) have been activated to inform motorists of the lane closures.
The Authority appreciates motorists' patience during this time.
