Thruway Authority Announces Lane Closure at Interchange 41 (Waterloo)

Motorists May Experience Minor Delays

ALBANY, NY (09/14/2007; 1357)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that an exit lane at Interchange 41 (Waterloo) will be closed on Monday, September 17 beginning at 7:30 a.m., due to a repair project that includes pavement reconstruction. The lane is tentatively scheduled to reopen on Friday, September 28, at 2 p.m., weather permitting.

During the reconstruction project, the exit lane will remain closed for approximately two weeks and exiting traffic will be moved to another lane that is normally used as the dedicated E-ZPass entry lane. As a result, a dedicated E-ZPass lane on entry will be unavailable for the duration of the project. However, motorists are reminded that E-ZPass can be used in any open lane. Throughout the project, motorists may experience minor delays during peak morning hours.

The Authority appreciates motorists’ patience and understanding while this essential repair takes place.

Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) will be activated to inform motorists of the closure.
