Thruway Authority Announces Lane Closures on the Niagara Thruway (I-190)
ALBANY, NY (02/17/2008; 1018)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority announces that two accidents on the Niagara Thruway (I-190) have resulted in lane closures. Two northbound lanes are closed just south of Interchange 15 (Sheridan Drive, Route 324) and two northbound lanes are closed at Interchange 16 (Youngman Highway, I-290) due to accidents.
Highway Advisory Radio (HAR)and Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) have been activated to alert motorists of the lane closures. The Authority has also sent TRANSalerts to subscribers.
Emergency crews and State Police Troop T are on the scenes and the lanes will be reopened as soon as conditions permit. Motorists are encouraged to drive with caution during the inclement weather.
