ALBANY, NY (07/21/2008; 1421)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that a pavement resurfacing project at the Clifton Springs Travel Plaza, located at milepost 337 eastbound, near Interchange 43 (Manchester), will result in limited parking for tractor trailers in both designated lots beginning at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2008, weather permitting.
Alternating work for the east and west lots will be as follows:
• Work on the east truck lot will take place from Thursday, July 24 to Monday, August 4, and from Thursday, August 7 to Friday, August 15, reducing truck parking capacity from 18 to ten spaces.
• Work on the west truck lot will take place from Monday, August 4 to Wednesday, August 6, reducing truck parking capacity from eight to two spaces. The project is expected to be completed by Friday, August 15.
Commercial motorists traveling eastbound on the Thruway in this area are advised that tractor trailer parking is also available at the Scottsville Travel Plaza, located approximately 29 miles prior to Clifton Springs Travel Plaza, and at the Port Byron Travel Plaza, located approximately 27 miles after Clifton Springs Travel Plaza.
The Authority will activate its Dynamic Message Sign (DMS) prior to the Clifton Springs Travel Plaza to advise motorists of the project.
The Authority appreciates motorists' patience and understanding while this essential improvement project takes place.
