Motorists May Experience Minimal Delays

ALBANY, NY (08/21/2008; 1432)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that paving projects on I-190 northbound will necessitate a ramp closure at Exit 19 (Whitehaven Road) and lane closures at Exit 18B (Beaver Island Parkway) beginning on Monday, August 25, 2008, weather permitting.

The Exit 19 (Whitehaven Road) ramp will be closed on Monday, August 25, 2008 from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. and on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 from 9 a.m. until noon.

Northbound traffic will be able to exit I-190 at Exit 20 (Long Road) and will be redirected back on the Thruway with a signed detour.

Additionally, there will be alternating lane closures on I-190 northbound at Exit 18B (Beaver Island Parkway) on Monday, August 25, 2008 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

During this paving project, motorists traveling on I-190 northbound are advised to plan for minimal delays.

The Authority will activate its Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) and Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) to advise motorists of the I-190 northbound ramp and lane closures.

The Authority appreciates motorists' patience and understanding as these paving projects take place.
