Town Hall Meeting on Economic Security Comes to Utica

Public Input Sought by Governor's Economic Security Cabinet

ALBANY, NY (07/03/2008; 1204)(readMedia)-- Governor Paterson's Economic Security Cabinet will convene the sixth of 13 Regional Town Hall meetings to be held this summer to hear public comment on New York State's efforts to protect and enhance the economic security of low-income working families.

WHO:

Members of the Economic Security Cabinet, which consists of 20 different state agencies and is co-chaired by David A. Hansell, Commissioner of the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, and M. Patricia Smith, Commissioner of the Department of Labor.

WHAT:

The Economic Security Cabinet is exploring opportunities to support struggling low-income families. These Town Hall meetings will provide an opportunity to hear about the State's commitment to protecting and enhancing economic security. Suggestions from employers, labor representatives, researchers, advocates, and the general public are a vital part of this effort, and interested individuals are invited to provide written submissions and/or three minutes of in-person testimony.
