Attention Motorists: September 30, 2007 Possible Delays On I-87 Between Interchanges 8 & 11

ALBANY, NY (09/28/2007; 1459)(readMedia)-- The National Multiple Sclerosis Society-Southern New York Chapter and the New York State Thruway Authority will once again hold the Great TZ Bike Tour for MS on Sunday, September 30. The Tour is scheduled to begin at 7:45 a.m.

Motorists may experience delays on I-87 northbound from 6 a.m. through noon between Interchange 8 (Cross Westchester Expressway) across the Tappan Zee Bridge to Interchange 11 (Nyack).

Between the hours of 6 a.m. and noon on Sunday, September 30, Interchanges 10 (Nyack, South Nyack) and 11 (Nyack) northbound will be closed. Northbound traffic heading to the Nyack area will be rerouted through Interchange 12 (West Nyack).

The Tappan Zee Bridge will not be closed to vehicular traffic. Throughout the event, the Bridge will remain open to traffic with two northbound and three southbound lanes of travel available. However, speed on the Tappan Zee Bridge will be reduced to 45 mph.

Travelers may wish to seek alternate routes the morning of September 30. Motorists traveling in or around the event area are encouraged to plan their trips accordingly, remain alert and exercise caution.
