Restaurant and Restroom Services Will Remain Available
ALBANY, NY (05/07/2008; 1036)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority announced that fuel services will be temporarily unavailable at both the Plattekill and Modena travel plazas for a short time on Thursday morning, May 8, 2008 due to necessary upgrades being performed on the computer systems. Restaurant and restroom services will remain available to motorists.
The upgrades at the Plattekill Travel Plaza, which is located northbound between Interchanges 17 (Newburgh I-84) and 18 (New Paltz), at milepost 65, are scheduled to begin at 4:00 a.m. and are expected to last until 5:30 a.m.
The upgrades at the Modena Travel Plaza, which is located southbound between Interchanges 18 (New Paltz) and 17 (Newburgh I-84), at milepost 66, are scheduled to begin at approximately 5:30 a.m. and are expected to last until 7:00 a.m.
Northbound motorists are advised that the next available travel plaza with fuel service is the Malden Travel Plaza, located approximately 32 miles north of the Plattekill Travel Plaza, between Interchanges 20 (Saugerties) and 21 (Catskill), at milepost 103.
Southbound motorists are advised that the next available travel plaza with fuel service is the Ramapo Travel Plaza, located approximately 33 miles south of the Modena Travel Plaza between Interchanges 16 (Woodbury Toll Barrier) and 15A (Suffern Rt. 17N), at milepost 33.
The Authority will activate its Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) to advise motorists of the temporary fuel closures.

Additionally, motorists are reminded that Sloatsburg Travel Plaza, located approximately 32 miles prior to the Plattekill Travel Plaza, between Interchanges 15A (Suffern Rt. 17N) and 16 (Woodbury Toll Barrier), at milepost 33, and the Ulster Travel Plaza, which is located approximately 30 miles prior to the Modena Travel Plaza, between Interchanges 20 (Saugerties) and 9 (Kingston), at milepost 96, are currently undergoing fuel station renovations and therefore no fuel is available at these locations.
