Area Entrepreneurs to Discuss Successfully Raising Venture Capital

ROCHESTER, NY (09/11/2007; 0900)(readMedia)-- The Upstate Venture Association of New York (UVANY) will hold a Capital Forum interactive panel discussion on Successfully Raising Venture Capital: Tricks and Tips for Attracting and Closing an Early VC Round. Area Entrepreneurs Alex Zapesochny, President, iCardiac Technologies, Inc, and Patrick Govang, President, e2e Materials, LLC, will talk about their experiences and strategies for attracting and closing an early stage venture round.

The event will be held Tuesday, September 18, 2007 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at the RIT Inn & Conference Center in Henrietta, NY. In addition to the panel discussion the event is an opportunity for entrepreneurs and local businesses to network with Upstate and NYC capital providers; legal and accounting firms; and others interested in venture and private equity transactions.

“The panelists will provide insight on what investors look for,” said David Kocen, UVANY president, “and on how to prepare for an upcoming round, what pitfalls to avoid and how to identify the best investors for your business.”

Entrepreneurs looking for funding will have an opportunity to make a one-minute presentation during the "Entrepreneur's Minute." Companies interested in an opportunity to present at the "Entrepreneur's Minute" should sign up online when registering to attend the event or may sign up at the registration desk the day of the event. There is no additional cost to present if selected.

Registration is available online at www.uvany.com or at the door the day of the event beginning at 5:00 pm.
