101st Air Refueling Wing invites local media to Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve appreciation event

BANGOR, MAINE (09/26/2023) (readMedia)-- The 101st Air Refueling Wing located in Bangor, ME is hosting a local media day on Sept. 29th in which outlets will be authorized to visit the installation for our ESGR Event; a day in which we invite any civilian employers to our wing to show our appreciation for their support for our Airmen during Drill Weekends, mobilization, or training.

Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is the lead U.S. Defense Department program promoting cooperation and understanding between civilian employers and their National Guard and Reserve employees. Established in 1972, ESGR operates within the O?ce of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve A?airs.

Media are invited to collaborate with wing members and willing civilian employers to conduct news stories encapsulating the event. Opportunities for interviews with SMEs and leadership will be made available.

-Media personnel will be expected to follow the designated escort (Public A?airs)-Interviews with civilian employers will be conducted post-?ight-Tour of the 101st Air Refueling Wing orchestrated by Vehicle OperationsLeadership of the 101st Air Refueling Wing would be honored to host you not only as local media outlets but as members of our community. This event honors civilian employers who continually support our Drill Status Guardsmen. Access is only permitted within the installation with prior coordination and an escort at all times. Those interested in attending must notify the Public A?airs O?ce in advance to coordinate transportation, as well as an inclusion on the Entry Authority List.
