Maine Army National Guard Conducting Improvement Projects at Lake George Regional Park and East Millinocket

AUGUSTA, ME (06/05/2025) (readMedia)-- Media are invited to view ongoing Maine Army National Guard engineering projects at the Lake George Regional Park in and the East Millinocket Mill (former Great Northern Paper Mill). Men and women from the Maine Army National Guard are working on community improvement projects at both locations through the Department of Defense's Innovative Readiness Training Program. The program saves local entities hundreds of thousands of dollars each year in manpower and equipment expenses, while simultaneously helping National Guard members to hone their military skillsets.

When: Sunday, June 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. (Lake George) and Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. (East Millinocket)

WHO:

The 133rd Engineer Battalion of the Maine Army National Guard. Leaders from the units executing the projects are available for interview.

WHAT:

National Guard members are executing construction and rehabilitation efforts at both the Lake George State Park and the East Millinocket Mill.
