120th Regional Support Group Deployment Send Off Ceremony

AUGUSTA, ME (08/09/2017) (readMedia)-- Brig. Gen. Douglas A. Farnham, The Adjutant General for the Maine National Guard, announced that 35 members of the 120th Regional Support Group stationed in Bangor will be deploying to Southwest Asia this summer.

The 120th Regional Support Group and their families will be honored at a Heroes Send-off ceremony at Hampden Academy's Performing Arts Center located at 89 Western Ave, Hampden, ME 04444 on Friday August, 11 at 1:00 PM.

A Heroes Send Off provides an opportunity to honor the Soldiers and wish them a safe journey.

During their year-long deployment they will be managing forward support operations within Central Command's area of operations. The Soldiers will manage facilities, provide administrative and logistical support for troop services and ensure the security of personnel and facilities on a base camp.

The unit mobilized in 2006 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom when the unit was known as the 240th Engineer Group.
