NEW YORK, NY (06/15/2007)(readMedia)-- The board of the New York State Affordable Housing Corporation (AHC) approved $175,000 in affordable housing grants for Frontier Housing Corporation at a meeting yesterday. The grants will finance necessary renovations to 10 homes in the Town of Brownville in Jefferson County.
The Frontier Housing Corporation’s renovation program makes home renovations for low-income people with disabilities or mobility limitations. Funds will be used to install ramps and lifts, make modifications to kitchens and bathrooms, and to make other necessary home accommodations for people who are vision- or hearing-impaired.
Renovations financed with these AHC funds will be limited to households with incomes that range from a maximum of $31,920 per year for a one-person household up to a maximum of $60,144 per year for an eight-person household.
Additional assistance is being provided by the North Country Home Consortium and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
