MELAKA, MALAYSIA - (05/31/2017) Dr. Sheri G. Trine of Trine University's Board of Trustees presented 50 graduates of Putra International College in Melaka, Malaysia, with Bachelor of Science in business administration degrees from Trine University during Putra's Commencement ceremony on May 20.

Putra students were able to earn Trine degrees for the first time through an agreement between the two institutions. Besides Sheri Trine, Michael Bock, senior vice president, Keirsten Eberts, senior director of global partnerships, Stephen Sim, Ph.D., Trine vice president for international affairs, and Mark Roselli, Ph.D., associate professor, flew to Melaka to participate in the ceremony.

Roselli served as master of ceremonies for the event.

Sheri Trine delivered the commencement address and offered several insights to the graduates, encouraging them to give their best, be truthful with others and themselves, make good choices, give back and be mindful of the world around them.

"Dream big, find your passion, meet life's challenges with confidence and enthusiasm, and most importantly, enjoy your journey," she said. "The world is yours to explore. Embrace the opportunity and leave your mark."

Dr. CY Tang, founder and president of Putra International, also addressed the graduates and noted that a high percentage of the BSBA students had graduated with honors.

"Today marks the end of one phase of your life," he said. "It is also the beginning of an unwritten, yet promising new chapter of your existence. Having completed your course, you are given both the opportunity and responsibility to write a colorful success story for yourself."

The college presented certificates, diplomas and degrees to a total of 75 students at the ceremony.
