MADISON, NJ (05/04/2011)(readMedia)-- Megan Kellerman, of Green Brook, NJ, will be one of over 3,000 students to graduate from Fairleigh Dickinson University on May 17, 2011, at the Izod Center. She is one of just nine seniors to complete the rigorous Honors Program at FDU's College at Florham. She presented her honors thesis project-a collection of original narrative poetry-on April 17, 2011.
Students in the Honors Program must graduate with a 3.5 cumulative GPA and complete a thesis in their major during their senior year. Kellerman, a creative writing major, wrote her thesis project as a narrative story told through several episodic poems. Her thesis was entitled "The Great Doubt: A Narrative in Verse."
Beside her stellar academics, Kellerman has been heavily involved in campus activities, and is currently the editor-in-chief of "Sphere," the world's first international undergraduate literary journal. She has also served as the treasurer of the FDU chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honors Society, and in 2009, she studied abroad at FDU's British Campus, Wroxton College.
Kellerman also enjoys making what she calls "literary pilgrimages," where she visits the graves of important writers and other literary monuments. So far, she has visited the Poet's Corner at Westminster Abbey in London, the Peter Pan statue in Kensington Gardens, also in London, as well as the grave of F. Scott Fitzgerald.
