CAZENOVIA, NY (04/11/2012)(readMedia)-- The Cazenovia College Art Gallery in Reisman Hall will host the annual Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibitions from now through May 1. The exhibition will include work by visual communications, studio art, photography and interior design degree candidates from Cazenovia College's Division of Art and Design,
Aaron Gratch, of Rome, N.Y., is majoring in studio art, with a minor in art history. His exhibition, titled "Artist: A Conceptual Catalyst," runs from April 26 to 30, with a reception on April 26 at 5 p.m.
Aaron Gratch is a conceptual artist who focuses on sculpture, silkscreen, graphic works, small metals, performance art, installation art and video art. His work has been displayed in multiple solo and group exhibitions throughout New York.
Of his work, Gratch writes, "This body of work engages the notion of a mental connection between the artist and the spectator. I am examining how individuals can be influenced by pre-determined conceptual thought. Art serves as a process for creating an interaction and allowing individuals the opportunity to conform to ideas, yet contradict them as well. The creative act will represent a process in which the traditional aesthetic is neglected; however the complex labyrinth of the mental journey will be realized. Through this realization, the artist and the viewer will be united and ultimately become catalysts for conceptual thought.
