Acclaimed Guitarist Adam Holzman to Perform at Crane School of Music

Internationally renowned guitarist Adam Holzman will present a guest artist recital at SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music on Monday, Oct. 20.

POTSDAM, NY (10/10/2014)(readMedia)-- SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will present a guest artist recital featuring renowned guitarist Adam Holzman, on Monday, Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater.

The performance will include works by Bach, Haydn, Melli, Torroba and other influential composers.

This event is free, and the public is invited to attend.

About the performer:

Adam Holzman is an internationally known performer, recording artist and teacher, who has been hailed as "polished and quite dazzling" by the New York Times. Five times a winner in major international competitions, Holzman's honors include First Prize at the Guitar Foundation of America Competition and Top Prize at the Ninth Concorso Internazionale di Interpretazione di Gargnano in Italy. A frequent guest in music festivals and concert series around the globe, he has held the title of Maestro Extraordinario, given by the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon in Monterrey, Mexico, where he served as artist-in-residence. Holzman has also performed at the prestigious Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and distinguished New York City venues such as Carnegie Recital Hall, Merkin Hall and the 92nd St. Y. His recordings for the Naxos label have been critically acclaimed, and he has been featured on the covers of both Classical Guitar magazine and Guitar magazine. Holzman is the founder of the Guitar Department at the University of Texas at Austin's Butler School of Music, where he serves as the Parker C. Fielder Regents Professor in Music.
