Adams Resident Barry Dillon to Be Inducted into the Suny Oswego Athletic Hall of Fame

Barry Dillon was a legendary Laker pitcher

OSWEGO, NY (10/18/2010)(readMedia)-- Barry Dillon of Adams will be inducted into the Oswego Athletic Hall of Fame at the 10th annual ceremony and dinner 6:30 p.m. Oct. 30 in the Sheldon Hall ballroom on the SUNY Oswego campus.

Dillon, a 1985 SUNY Oswego graduate, will be recognized for his achievements in baseball.

He accumulated an all-time record of 37 wins during his four-year collegiate career as a pitcher, which included an undefeated season in 1982. The former team captain was named to the All-SUNY Athletic Conference team three times.

Dillon was inducted into the Oswego State Baseball Hall of Fame in 1989.

He has been active in his community over the years as a Habitat for Humanity, Fresh Air Fund and Little League volunteer.

The Oswego Alumni Association established the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001 to honor players and coaches who made outstanding contributions to Oswego State athletics. Oswego graduates and former athletes Charles Wiltse, James Hauptfleisch, Eileen Sommers, Robert Zabronsky and Michael Snell will also be honored along with former Oswego employee Dick Johnson at this year's ceremony.
