Advisory Council on Underage Alcohol Consumption Meets March 18 in Albany
ALBANY, NY (03/11/2010)(readMedia)-- The state Advisory Council on Underage Alcohol Consumption will hold a meeting on Thursday, March 18, 2010.
As per Mental Hygiene Law, the Advisory Council on Underage Alcohol Consumption consists of representative stakeholders in the effort to combat underage alcohol consumption. The Advisory Council is charged with studying and analyzing information regarding underage drinking consumption; the responses to underage drinking made by government officials; to conduct public hearings as necessary; identify recommendations on educational programs and training programs for law enforcement officials and prosecutors, as well as the appropriateness and effectiveness of existing civil and criminal laws. The Council is responsible for submitting an annual report to the Governor, the Majority Leader of the Senate and Speaker of the Assembly regarding its activities and recommendations.

AGENDA: Meeting will include discussion re: annual report; update on controlled party dispersal training and underage drinking regional forums; update on legislative issues; sub committees reports; and adolescent treatment services on Long Island as applicable.
