LATHAM, NY (03/12/2014)(readMedia)-- New York Air National Guard Senior Master Sgt. Robert Bolger, a Saratoga Springs resident, has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal in recognition of his six years of service as an Assistant Inspector General for the New York National Guard.
During his service in this important role, Bolger dealt with 415 cases involving the New York Army National Guard and 131 involving the New York Air National Guard. Bolger was also involved in helping with another 1,224 cases.
Bolger was also a key participant in 17 Army National Guard site inspection teams and seven Air National Guard wing sensing sessions. The information gathered through these inspections and visits provided senior Army and Air National Guard leaders with insights they used in creating policies and training programs.
Bolger was also involved in running a number of training programs for Army and Air National Guard officers and non-commissioned officers.
Bolger is now serving as Human Resource Specialist for New York Air National Guard headquarters.
The Meritorious Service Medal is a military award presented to members of the United States Armed Forces who distinguished themselves by outstanding meritorious achievement or service to the United States.
