ALBANY, NY (01/24/2011)(readMedia)-- William J. Keniry of Albany (Tabner, Ryan & Keniry, LLP) is the new chair of the 2,530-member Trial Lawyers Section of the New York State Bar Association.
Keniry is a partner at Tabner, Ryan & Keniry, LLP, concentrating his practice in litigation, personal injury law, municipal law, and commercial real estate law. He has been engaged in the general practice of law for 21 years.
A 20-year member of the State Bar, Keniry has served on the Trial Lawyers Section's Executive Committee since 2001. He previously served as the section's secretary and treasurer. He is a fellow of The New York Bar Foundation.
Keniry is vice-chairman of the Executive Committee of the Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department's Committee on Professional Standards. He also is a member of the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, the Albany County Bar Association, and the Saratoga County Bar Association.
Keniry received his undergraduate degree from Union College, and earned his law degree after attending Western New England College School of Law and Albany Law School of Union University.
The 77,000-member New York State Bar Association is the official statewide organization of lawyers in New York and the largest voluntary state bar association in the nation. Founded in 1876, State Bar programs and activities have continuously served the public and improved the justice system for 135 years.
