ALBANY, NY (09/12/2017) (readMedia)-- Victory Christian Church City Kids Smoothie truck arives back from it's mission in the Houston and Port Aurther Texas.
Pastor Charlie and daughter Cassie supported by Capital District businesses and residents served over 10,000 Smoothies to first responders and victims of huricane Harvey.
Two parts of this mission took place in Texas one to serve smoothies the other was to locate area's of greatest needs for trucks that are coming from Jezreel Int. On Thursday August 31st.Victory Christian Church held a bennifit concert that raised over 4,000 dollars to pay for trucking for items that will be handed out in the most needed area's.
Pastor Charlie found two hardest hit area's that will recieve trucks from the Capital District.
Glen Beck put a video clip of Pastor Charlie's mission on his web site the Blaze with over 50,000 views and lots of response on just some of what they were able to do in Houston.
Leaving Albany 10:30 P.M. and arriving in Houston on Saturday 8:30 A.M. serving victims at 10:30 A.M. and non stop for the next seven days. The City Kids Smoothie Truck served at the largest shelters and Houston and one day 3 locations including a Max Security Prison that was hit hard. On the last day in one of the hardest hit neighborhoods with a volunteer from Houston the City Kids Smoothie truck was able to serve over 100 families that were trying to salvage their possessions.
Many of the area's were like a war zone as we navigated the flood one night trying to make it back to hotel we got blocked in by water on every side and it took over 4 hours to get out of that area says Pastor Charlie.
Driving non stop to get to Houston the truck drove non stop coming home.
