Albany Gun Program Brought to Binghamton, NY

Pastor Charlie Muller Reaps over 55 Hand Guns in Just 1 Hour

ALBANY, NY (06/27/2009)(readMedia)-- Pastor Charlie Muller of the Victory Christian Church was invited to run his "Put it Down Gun Shop Back Program" in the city of Binghamton, NY. Last week Pastor Charlie met with Binghamton press to announce that the program would be held today in the St. James parking lot. The program ran from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and in just one hour over 55 hand guns were collected. Never expecting to get such a response, Pastor Charlie had to shut down after one hour, turning at least ten people away. Everyone was informed that their would be another collection in September. Broome county Sheriff's Deputy Brian Curtis was present during the turn in and he was very surprised at the turn out.

On Monday, June 29 through Thursday, July 2, Pastor Charlie will hold a free basketball camp at Hoffman Park in Albany for all Albany city kids, grades 7-12, interested in participating. The camp will be open from 9 a.m. through 2 p.m with Seth Franco of the Harlem Globetrotters heading up the camp.

The free camp will highlight an anti-violence message encouraging city kids to turn in hand guns or just stay away from them.
